It is a three day (22 to 24 September 2017) tournament pitting a team of the six best tennis players from Europe against six opponents from the rest of the world. The tournament has been named in honor of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver. 2017 has been a great year for sports in general, with several noteworthy moments from around the world. Here we look at five of the most unforgettable moments in sport:

Rafael Nadal jumping on Roger Federer

The Laver Cup is not one of the premier tennis tournaments, but it produced one of the most memorable moments for the sport in 2017. It is one of the only tournaments where fans will see competitors pair up together and play as a team and is how we saw Rafael Nadal jumping on Roger Federer after winning. That moment showed how much genuine affection and rivalry the two tennis greats have for one another.

Barcelona’s comeback against PSG

It is ironic to talk about a Barcelona comeback against PSG with Neymar now on the side. However, it is still one of the greatest comebacks in a soccer series. Barcelona, down 4-0 at the Parc des Princes leg had no hope going into the second game at home. Unbelievably, the Blaugrana managed a 6-1 victory with Neymar in the driving seat.

Sebastian Vettel’s F1 season

It was a surprise to everyone at the start of the season when the new Ferrari looked a genuine title challenger. Sebastian Vettel has a lead in the World Championship, and it took two events to turn the season around completely. The first was a tantrum during the Grand Prix at Baku, where Vettel threw away an easy victory when he bumped into Lewis Hamilton. The second was a squeeze on Max Verstappen during the Singapore GP, eliminating him, Raikkonen, and Verstappen and handing victory and the lead in the championship to Lewis Hamilton.
